About Matt
I began my professional career in 2015 in the grocery FMCG industry, working with brands such as Charlies Juice, Hansells, and most recently Taylors and Brown Brothers Wines. I spent five years in the wine industry, travelling across the South Island, the Bay of Plenty, and occasionally to Australia.
After ten years in Christchurch, my family and I decided to relocate to Dunedin to be closer to relatives and for the opportunity to start a new career in insurance. I have a strong passion for connecting with people and genuinely enjoy being out talking with clients.
Many of the skills I’ve developed over the years are highly transferable, and I’m excited to bring them into the insurance industry and be part of a local team that works hard for its peoples.
I’m still torn about which rugby team to support, but I really appreciate the culture and fresh change the Otago region has offered. It’s a stunning place to live, and the people here have been incredibly welcoming and supportive.
After Work
My wife Maddie and I have two young boys, Fred and Monty, and a dog Walter who is arguably more work than both of them combined. When I’m not busy with family life, you’ll usually find me running the hills of Dunedin or organising trips and events with relatives. I enjoy 70s music and am currently building a vinyl collection. I follow most sports and typically support whoever’s winning on the day, as it removes the disappointment and always gives me a reason to celebrate.
